Piano Teacher

About the role

We are currently hiring piano teachers to join our growing team. You'll work with a thoughtfully curated student base, no need to find your own clients, and teach within a supportive, professional environment built around great pedagogy and student care. Additional instruments will be added later as the school grows.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 1-to-1 and/or small group piano lessons
  • Support each student's progress and confidence
  • Prepare students for performances and exams (optional)
  • Maintain professional teaching standards

Requirements

  • Strong ability at the piano
  • Teaching experience preferred but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS check required (we can advise)
  • A passion for working with children and/or adults
  • Driving licence and car

Work Experience

Unpaid · Short placement

About the placement

A short, unpaid placement for high school and A-Level students who are considering a future in music teaching. You'll shadow experienced teachers, help with group sessions and observe how a music school is run day-to-day. Perfect for school work-experience weeks or summer breaks.

Who it's for

  • Students aged 16+
  • Interest in music teaching or music education
  • Ability to read basic sheet music helpful but not required
  • Always supervised by an experienced teacher

Note: work experience placements are unpaid and educational in nature, designed to give students insight into the profession.

Internship

Paid at UK National Minimum Wage

About the role

A longer, paid internship for A-Level, gap year and graduate students who want hands-on teaching experience. Interns assist with summer workshops, after-school clubs and group sessions, always with an experienced teacher present. A genuine path into a teaching career, with a salary attached.

Compensation

  • Paid at the UK National Minimum Wage for your age bracket
  • Aged 21+ — £12.71 per hour
  • Aged 18 to 20 — £10.85 per hour
  • Under 18 / Apprentice — £8.00 per hour

Requirements

  • Aged 16+
  • Strong piano ability (Grade 5+ ideal)
  • Commitment to a defined internship period
  • Enhanced DBS check (we can advise)
